FULTON, MS – For the second straight week Itawamba Community College's JT Salter was named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior College (MACJC) Pitcher of the Week.
The sophomore from Bay Minette, AL, led the Indians (31-16) to a playoff victory Friday by throwing a complete game two hitter and struck out 10 while walking only two and allowing one unearned run.
Salter's standout performance in the Indians 7-1 game two win over Pearl River Community College, forced a decisive game three in the Nation Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 23 Best-of-Three Series.
The 6'7 right hander will now be nominated for NJCAA Pitcher of the Week, an honor he also won last week.
At the end of his sophomore season at ICC, Salter struck out 84 which is 14th in the NJCAA currently and finished the season with seven wins.
