Salter named MACJC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

FULTON, MS – Itawamba Community College sophomore JT Salter was named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior College (MACJC) Baseball Pitcher of the Week in a league announcement Tuesday.
The Bay Minette, AL native helped the Indians (30-14, 17-11 MACJC) pick up two big wins last week over East Mississippi Community College and Hinds Community College.
Salter threw one perfect inning and pick up the save in the 5-4 win over East Mississippi Wednesday and threw a complete game three hit shutout in Saturday's 7-0 win over Hinds.
The 6'7 right hander combined for 10 strikeouts while only allowing three hits and walking two. Salter only faced 29 batters over eight innings of work.
Salter's complete game winner Saturday clinched home field in the best-of-three playoff series for the Indians which is set to begin Thursday, May 11 at 6 p.m. against Pearl River Community College.
