FULTON, MS - The Indians (16-14, 3-9 MACJC) couldn't carry the momentum from their Game 1 victory into the final contest, as the Tigers (11-22, 6-9 MACJC) used a five-run fifth inning to pull away for a 8-1 victory earn a split on the evening.

Stephon Moore (West Point) was dealing early for the Indians.

The freshman pitcher struck out seven and allowed only one hit through the first four innings but couldn't get any run support as the Indians left three runners stranded in scoring position – two on third base – through the first three innings of play.

After back-to-back errors and a walk to load the bases, Moore notched his eighth strikeout to pick up the second out of the fifth inning before the Tigers' batter lifted a full-count pitch over the third baseman's head and down the line in left to clear the bases and take a 4-0 lead on a two-out double.

Coahoma added a two-run home run to take a 6-0 lead before the Indians could escape the inning.

Austin Carpenter (Belmont) tried to spark the Indians with a double to start the bottom half of the inning and scored on a two-out single by Delvin Zinn (Pontotoc). Zinn finished the game 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI.

The Indians loaded the bases with only one out in the bottom of the sixth but back-to-back strike outs dampened the hopes of a late-game rally as the Tigers tacked on a pair of insurance runs in the top of the seventh to pick up the 8-1 victory.

Drake Rowton (Marion, AR) went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles. As a team, the Indians only managed six hits in the loss.

ICC will host Jones County Junior College (30-2, 13-1 MACJC) on Saturday with Game 1 of the doubleheader scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m. The first game of the doubleheader can be heard on FM 95 Sports (WAFM 95.7 FM in Amory) starting with the Davis Ford Pregame Show at 1:40 while both games will be streamed online at LetsGoICCTV.com.
