FULTON, MS – After a dramatic comeback decided game one of the rivalry doubleheader, game two came down to the wire as well as Northeast Mississippi Community College score two runs late to defeat Itawamba Community College 3-1 and pick up the sweep.

It was a pitcher's duel early as Jonas White (Lewisburg) and Ryan Wesson went head-to-head on the mound and Wesson allowing the only hit in first two innings. However, the Tigers (12-12, 3-3) took a one run advantage in the third after a balk was called with a runner at third.

The Indians (13-9, 1-5 MACJC) trailed until the bottom of the fifth when Dalton Hudspeth (Louisville) crushed a lead off solo home run off the scoreboard to tie the game at 1-1.

Northeast quickly broke the tie in the top of the sixth as they scored two runs on one hit and an error. With the two run lead, the Tigers held the Indians hitless in the final two frames to pick up the 3-1 game two win.

White was hit with the tough luck loss as he threw a complete game where he allowed only six hits, struck out eight and allowing only one earned run.

The Indians will look to rebound and get back to their winning ways Friday when they host Meridian Community College. First pitch of the conference twin bill is set for 2:00 pm at Roy Cresap Field.
