Baseball completes sweep of Calhoun, 13-2

FULTON, MS - ICC completed the sweep of the Calhoun (AL) Community College Warhawks with a 13-2 win in five innings in Game 2 on Tuesday.
The Indians (4-0) sent 16 batters to the plate and scored 11 runs in the bottom of the first inning highlight by two-run singles from Timothy Rowe (Hernando) and Drake Rowton (Marion, AR) along with a two-run home run to left field by Tyreque Reed (Houlka).
Rowe finished 2-for-3 with three runs batted in. Rowton added a 2-for-3 performance with a pair of RBI with a double, steal and two runs scored.
John Morgan Payne (Belmont) gave up two runs, both earned, on four hits with two strike outs in four innings of work.
The Indians churned out 10 hits in the victory.
ICC will host the same Warhawk squad on Saturday with the first game of the doubleheader scheduled to start at noon.
