
Tanner Poole receives postseason honors

FULTON, MS – Itawamba Community College centerfielder Tanner Poole received two postseason honors on Monday for his performance in his sophomore campaign.
Poole was selected to the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-State team and earned National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region 23 honors.
The Amory native led the Indians in almost every offensive category in his final season in the red and blue. He finished with a .378 batting average, .447 on base percentage and a .643 slugging percentage, all three of which are team highs.
In 143 at bats in the leadoff spot, Poole picked up 54 hits including 12 doubles, four triples, six homeruns and picked up 39 RBI and 46 runs.
Poole, who was named MACJC Player of the Week in final week of the season, stole 26 bases which put him in the top 20 nationally and recorded 71 putouts, finishing with a .986 fielding percentage.
The Indians finished 19-17, just missing the playoffs due to a tiebreaker.
