FULTON, MS – The Itawamba Community College baseball program wrapped up the regular season with sophomores Tanner Poole and TJ Watson earning MACJC Honors Tuesday.

Poole (Amory) was voted MACJC Player of the Week and Watson (Dallas, GA) picked up the Pitcher of the Week honor.

In the final week of the season, Poole went 15-for-27 with 12 RBI, 10 runs, four doubles, two triples, one homerun and four stolen bases in six games to help lead the Indians to four victories over East Central, Holmes and Copiah-Lincoln Community Colleges.

Against East Central, Poole went 3-for-6 with four RBI, two runs and one triple in the 21-2 game one win, and 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run and one homerun in the game two 10-3 loss. The following day, the 6'4 centerfielder went 3-for-5 with two RBI, two runs, one double and two steals in the 12-6 game one loss to Holmes, and went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, one triple and picked up one steal in the 6-3 game two victory.

Poole finished the week going 2-for-4 with two RBI, two runs and one steal in Sunday's 9-1 game one win over Co-Lin, and 2-4 with one RBI, two doubles, and one steal in the 7-1 game two win. Poole hit .555 for the week and finished the season with a team leading .378 batting average. Poole also lead the Indians with 39 RBIs this season.

Watson kept batters guessing in his two starts last week giving up two runs while allowing only 10 hits and striking out 13 in 12 and two thirds innings of work.

In his start against East Central, Watson allowed one run on four hits and struck out seven Warriors over six innings in the Indians 21-2 victory. On Sunday, Watson threw six and two thirds innings against Co-Lin, giving up one run on six hits and striking out six in the 9-1 win.

Watson had a 1.42 ERA in his two outings and led the team with a 3.93 ERA for his entire sophomore campaign. The 6'3 right hander also led the Indians in wins with a six, and strikeouts with 67.

Poole and Watson will be eligible for NJCAA Player of the Week honors.
