
Burns earns MACJC Pitcher of the Week honors

FULTON, MS – Freshman right-handed pitcher Nick Burns has been named MACJC Pitcher of the Week when the league released its weekly honors late Tuesday.
Burns (Mantachie) gave up four runs, three of those earned, on six hits while walking four and striking out two in 11 and two thirds innings and picked up wins against Meridian Community College and Pearl River Community College.
Against Meridian, he threw a complete game one hitter, while walking three and striking out two, to lead the Indians to a 6-0 win. Burns picked up his second win of the week on Saturday as he lead the Indians to a 11-4 win over Pearl River by throwing four-plus innings, allowing five hits, four runs - three earned - while only issuing one walk.
Burns (2-1) is eligible for NJCAA Pitcher of the Week honors that will be announced later this week.
The Indians are 13-9 overall and currently in eighth place with a 7-7 record inside conference play.
ICC is scheduled to travel to Ellisville to take on the No. 8 Jones County Junior College Bobcats (21-9, 8-6 MACJC) on Friday before returning home to face the Saluqis of Southwest Tennessee Community College (16-18) on in non-conference action on Monday.
