Baseball to host high school spring break tournament

FULTON, MS -- Itawamba Community College head baseball coach Rick Collier released the scheduled for the 2013 ICC High School Baseball Tournament on Friday.
The tournament will feature Amory High School, Hamilton High School, Houston High School, Itawamba AHS and Shannon High School with the first day featuring three games on Monday, March 11 and Wednesday, March 13.
"This is always one of our most favorite events on campus," said Collier. "All these schools have very proud successful programs and have lot of deep ties that is rooted in the success that we've had here at ICC and will continue to be a big part of our future."
The Amory Panthers will take on Monroe County rival Hamilton Lions at 2:00 and the Lions will play the Shannon Red Raiders at 4:00 before Itawamba County rivals Mantachie Mustangs and Itawamba AHS Indians finishes out Monday's play at 6:15 p.m.
ICC (8-8, 0-0 MACJC North) will open division play against East Mississippi Community College (9-9, 0-0 MACJC North) on Tuesday, March 12 at 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. at Roy Cresap Field.
"East Mississippi is a very good baseball team," Collier commented. "They've been up and down a lot like us this season so they'll be coming in hungry to start division play with a pair of wins."
Wednesday Mantachie and Houston will square off at 11:00 with Hamilton and Itawamba AHS rounding out the tournament at 1:15 p.m.
