FULTON, Miss. – The Davis Event Center Itawamba Community College Fulton Campus will host site for rounds three and four of the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Middle School Basketball Invitational that will be played on Jan. 26-27.
MHSAA officials were forced to reschedule the tournament after winter weather forced cancellations at numerous host sites throughout the state.
In the girls' bracket, South Pontotoc and Greenwood will play at 4 p.m. while Marietta and Pontotoc will play at 6 p.m. Friday. The winners will face off at 12 p.m. Saturday.
In the boys' side of things, Batesville and Greenwood will square off at 5 p.m. while Marietta and Pontotoc play at 7 p.m. Friday. The winners will play at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Saturday's winners will advance to the tournament's final four hosted at East Mississippi.
The games will consist of six-minute quarters with an eight-minute halftime. Overtime, if necessary, will be a three-minute period. Admission will be $10 per day at the gate of the main entrance of the Event Center. Fans can pay cash or via online payment w through a GoFan QR code at the gate.
The MHSAA created the Invitational in 2023 with the goal of providing more middle school opportunities through the association and growing the event into a true state championship tournament.
