
Decatur, Miss. - For the second time this season, the ICC Women's Soccer program upset nationally ranked East Central. Friday's 3-1 road win also clinched a playoff berth for the Lady Indians.
The Lady Indians (5-6, 4-2 MACCC North) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead when Kirsty MacGregor (Yorkshire, England) score off an assist from Maria Jones (Oxford), and Morgan Mitchell (Amory) quickly followed with an unassisted goal.
Brianna Huckaby (Saltillo) extended the Lady Indians lead to 3-0 at the 31st minute, but East Central answered with a goal five minutes before halftime.
Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the second half, and sophomore keeper Anna Kate Trust (Oxford) picked up six saves in the contest.
Even though the Lady Indians clinched playoff spot clinched, they still have two big North Division games next week as they face nationally ranked Holmes and Northwest. Tuesday, the Lady Indians will travel to Holmes with opening kick scheduled for 1 p.m. and will return to Fulton to face Northwest Friday at 1 p.m.
