Christie named MACJC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week

FULTON, Miss. – Scoring two goals to help the women's soccer team go 1-1-0 on the week earned freshman forward Deanna Christie the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Women's Soccer Player of the Week award.

The Liverpool, England, native scored the lone goal in the Lady Indians' loss at Jones County Junior College and added her second goal of the week in a road win at Southwest Tennessee Community College.

Christie is currently tied for most goals (4), tied for second most assists (3) and has the second most points (11) for the Lady Indians. She is now eligible for National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Player of the Week to be announced later this week.

The Lady Indians are 6-4-0 overall and 3-1-0 in the North Division and are a game behind Holmes Community College (7-0-0, 4-0-0 MACJC North) for first place in the division.

ICC will step out of division play to face Pearl River Community College (3-0-3, 2-0-2 MACJC South) on Wednesday. The Lady Indians will wrap up the week on Saturday against Motlow State Community College (2-3-1) at 4:00 p.m. in Fulton.
