Lady Indians fall to Holmes, 1-0

FULTON, MS – The Itawamba Community College women's program dropped a tight MACJC North Division battle Friday to Holmes Community College, 1-0.
The Lady Indians (0-5, 0-4 MACJC North) exchanged shots on goal with the Lady Bulldogs, but trailed 1-0 at the break after a late first half goal.
Sophomore Rachel Stukenborg (Long Beach) fired two shots on net to try to find the equalizer and Emily Buster (Prattville, AL) had a great scoring opportunity but a great play from the Lady Bulldog keeper and back line preserved the lead.
Despite a late charge, the Lady Indians were unable to find the game tieing goal to come up just short of their first division win.
The Lady Indians will travel to Stone Mountain, GA Tuesday for a non-conference match with Covenant College's JV squad. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
