FULTON, MS – The ICC Lady Indians had momentum after defeating Co-Lin last Friday, but were unable to take advantage of their opportunities Wednesday, falling 1-0 in a hard fought battle with Meridian.

"The girls fought hard," said Coach Mike Sullivan. "It was just one of those late goals and they just got one through on us."

It was a back and forth battle in the first half, but the Lady Indians (2-8, 0-3) had a ton of opportunities to put one in the back of the net, but couldn't capitalize on those chances.

"We had a great first half," said Sullivan. "We had a lot of chances, but just couldn't cash one in unfortunately."

ICC keeper Emily Munn (Pontotoc) made some great saves in the first half to keep the game scoreless, but at the 68th minute, the Lady Eagles were able to put one into the net to take a 1-0 lead.

The Lady Indians tried the rest of the game to put home the equalizer, but just couldn't get one past the Meridian keeper.

Despite the loss, the Lady Indians take a lot of positives from the game as they head back into North Division play. The Lady Indians will hit the road on Tuesday as they travel to Senatobia to take on the Northwest Lady Rangers at 2 p.m.
