DECATUR, MS – The ICC Lady Indians lose their second North Division game in a hard fought 3-0 loss to East Central.
The Lady Indians (1-5, 0-2) knew it would be tough to pick up a road win, and they saw just how tough this league is when they rolled into Decatur. East Central (5-1, 1-0) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead by scoring at the eighth minute. Less than twenty minutes later, they struck again to take a 2-0 lead in the break.
ICC managed to have five shots, but were unable to convert on any of the opportunities. Early in the second half, East Central added another goal and held on to defeat the Lady Indians 3-1.
Despite the loss, the Lady Indians had several positives come out of the match. Most notably was the return of Emily Munn (Pontotoc) who had been sidelined with injuries. Munn faced 9 shots on goal, savings 6 of them.
The Lady Indians were not able to get their offense up and going, but get to try again soon as they host Holmes on Friday.
