
Nationally ranked Indians win home opener

FULTON, MS – Mother Nature has altered the No. 20 Itawamba Community College men's tennis programs schedule drastically as of late, but on Saturday the Indians finally played a home match.
The Indians (2-2) original opponent for the home opener was Jones County Junior College, but due to the weather, Holmes Community College was the first to roll into Fulton this season, but they would leave empty handed as the Indians picked up a 9-0 victory.
Mark Robbins (New Albany) and David McElwain (West Point) were perfect in their singles matches winning 6-0, 6-0 and Robbins paired with Drew Ballard (Tupelo) in doubles to pick up an 8-0 victory.
Holmes forfeited two matches and had one retire to hand the Indians three matches.
Cody Coins (Millington, TN) and Nathaniel Pinkney (Southaven) rounded out the day picking up wins to put the Indians back at 500.
The Indians will hit the road against for their next MACJC showdown when they travel to Decatur to take on the East Central Community College Warriors at 2 p.m.
