
No. 19 Indians shutout No. 25 Warriors

DECATUR, MS –The Itawamba Community College Indians have been on a tear since entering MACJC play and have earn a No. 19 ranking by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
The Indians (3-2) carried their new ranking on the road Tuesday and picked up another 9-0 win, this time over No. 25 East Central Community College.
The day started with doubles competition and the Indians picked up three quick wins highlighted by a Nathaniel Pinkney (Southaven) and Cody Coins (Millington, TN) 8-1 win.
Pinkney would have the toughest match of the day in singles, but he emerged with a 7-5, 6-4 win.
The Indians posted four shutout sets by Austin McElwain (Corinth), David McElwain (West Point), Drew Ballard (Tupelo) and Mark Robbins (New Albany).
A week from now the Indians, will face the No. 16 Meridian Community College Eagles for a battle that is huge on the local and national level. The showdown of nationally ranked foes will begin Tuesday, March 24 at 2 p.m.
