FULTON, MS – The No. 8 Indians picked up their 30th win of the season with a 26-3 five-inning Game 2 victory over Mississippi Delta Community College on Tuesday.

After a scoreless first inning, the Indians (30-5, 15-3 MACJC) got back in the swing of things by scoring 12 runs in the bottom of the second inning.

Taylor Thornton (Carrollton) pushed across Bree Thompson (Water Valley) for the inning's first run when she reached on a fielder's choice. Bree Harford (Southaven) scored on a single by Lane Kennedy (Smithville) before the Trojans (3-27, 0-16 MACJC) could collect the second out of the inning.

ICC plated nine runs on seven hits highlighted by a two-run single by Kaitlin Bradley (Columbus), RBI double by Mamie Hollenhead (Mathiston), two-run double by Harford, RBI double by Thornton and a second RBI single by Kennedy in the bottom of the second inning.

The Indians added nine runs in the bottom of the third inning on nine hits – seven of those hit were for extra bases. Bradley doubled to start the inning and scored on a double by Hollenhead. Maura Jane Autry (Holly Springs) drove in a pair of runs with on a one-out double. Kennedy and Alex Brown (Pontotoc) each pushed across another run with back-to-back doubles before Hollenhead added a three-run bomb to round out the scoring.

Addie Thompson (Hamilton) also added a double in the third inning.

Sheneria Tyes (Baldwyn) was hit by a pitch twice and scored a pair of runs in the fourth inning while Autry, Thornton and Brown each added a run in the inning.

Hollenhead went 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles and a home run to push across six runs and scoring three more in the victory. Kennedy went 4 for 4 with four RBI and two runs scored. Autry went 4 for 5 with four runs scored and two RBI.

Grayson Wells (Greenwood) improved to 2-0 on the season after giving up one earned run on three hits and one walk while striking out three in four innings. Taylor Cresap (Fulton) struck out one in one hitless and scoreless inning of work.

The victory marked the fifth-straight year the Indians will have at least 30 wins on the season.

ICC will travel to Southwest Mississippi Community College (17-15, 10-8 MACJC) on Sunday after Mother Nature force the games to be delayed. Opening pitch for the conference doubleheader in Summit is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
