Softball sweeps Coahoma with 26-2 Game 2 win

CLARKSDALE, MS – Freshmen Mamie Hollenhead (Mathiston) and Alex Brown (Pontotoc) combined for six hits, six runs and seven RBI to lead the No. 10 Indians to a 26-2 Game 2 victory over Coahoma Tuesday.
Leading 5-0 after two innings, the Indians (25-4, 10-2 MACJC) broke the game open with a 15-run third inning.
Seven Indian batters finished the game with multiple hits. Of the 19 total hits, five went for extra bases with Mary Kansas Sullivan (Houston) hitting a pair of doubles and Brown adding a double and a triple while Kaitlin Bradley (Columbus) also had a triple.
Bre Harford (Southaven) went two-for-three with a walk, two runs scored and four RBI. Bree Thompson (Water Valley) added a pair of hits and three runs driven in.
Freshman Grayson Wells (Greenwood) gave up two runs, one earned, while scattering three hits and striking out six batters to pick up her first win of the season with the complete game victory.
ICC will travel to Decatur, MS on Friday to take on No. 3 East Central Community College (27-4, 11-3 MACJC).
