GADSDEN, AL - Sheneria Tyes has been clutch for the softball team this week.

Tyes scored the game-winning run in the ICC's 5-4 extra-inning win over Jackson State (TN) Community College on Saturday and came up in the clutch again in the Indians' 8-7 victory over the Lake Land (IL) College Lakers in eight innings on Sunday.

Tyes lifted a two-out single over the third baseman's head to score Addie Thompson (Hamilton) from second to give the Indians' the come-from-behind victory.

Trailing 6-2, Lane Kennedy (Smithville) lined a two-run home run to right-center to pull the Indians to a 6-4 deficit with two outs in bottom of the seventh. Alex Brown (Pontotoc) blasted a second two-run shot of the inning to center to tie the game.

Kennedy went 2-for-3 with a double and a two-run homer.

With the international tiebreaker runner at second, Lake Lake (9-5) pushed across the go-ahead run on a single by Samantha Valentine, who went 3-for-3 with a walk and three runs scored.

Kaitlin Bradley (Columbus) drew a walk to start the bottom of the eight inning with the ITB runner on second and both advanced on a sac bunt by Mamie Hollenhead (Mathiston).

The Lakers caught a break on a perfect hop off a bunt to get the runner at home on a squeeze play to cut down the tying run with Bradley advancing to third and Thompson reaching on the play.

Bradley sprinted home on a throwing error by the catcher to tie the game, 7-7, before Thompson stole second to set up Tyes for her late-game heroics.

Carleigh Mills (Corinth), who started the game, re-entered the contest to pick up the win after giving up three runs - one earned - on seven hits, three walks and one strikeout in six innings of work.

Grayson Wells (Greenwood) got the Indians out of a jam after entering the game in the top of the seventh with no outs and runners in scoring position to keep the damage to a minimum in the inning.

The Indians have won 11-straight games to improve to 12-2 on the season.
