WESSON, MS - Co-Lin saw a three-run advantage slip away in the top of the seventh and then saw a walk-off single left the to pick an 8-7 Game 1 victory Sunday.
ICC (1-2) fell behind 2-0 after the Wolves (3-0) took advantage of an two-out error to push across a pair of runs on a bases loaded walk and a fielder's choice.
The Indians pulled even, 2-2, in the top of the fourth when Lane Kennedy (Smithville) scored on a double by Alex Brown (Pontotoc), who later scored on a single by Kaitlin Bradley (Columbus).
The Wolves answered to take a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the fifth with two runs coming after an error negated a routine double play to get out of the inning with minimum damage done.
With their backs against the wall, ICC found its offense to pull ahead 7-5 in the top of the seventh.
Katie Channell (Vicksburg) got the inning started with a double. Bree Thompson (Water Valley) followed with a walk and Katrina Wilson (Oxford) reached on an error to load the bases with no outs for Sheneria Tyes (Baldwyn).
Tyes smashed a double to the gap to plate Channell and Thompson. Kennedy singled score Maura Jane Autry (Holly Springs) to tie the game, 5-5, before a two-run double by Brown put the Indians ahead for the first time in the game.
Co-Lin loaded the bases with one out in the bottom half of the inning and got back-to-back singles to escape the agony of defeat in walk off fashion.
Kennedy and Brown went 2-for-4 with Brown driving in three runs on a pair of doubles.
Cassidy Hardy (Gordo, AL) was saddled with the tough luck loss in relief duty of Taylor Cresap (Fulton), who replace starter Carleigh Mills (Kossuth) after 4.1 innings of work.
