
McDuffy finishes season as nation's ERA leader

FULTON, MS – Itawamba Community College pitcher Katlin McDuffy finished first in the nation in earned run average (ERA) when the final statistics were released on Wednesday.
The Iuka native, ended the 2015 season with a 0.57 ERA to sit atop the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II ERA category.
McDuffy allowed only four earned runs in 49 and one third innings of work. She made 23 appearances, finishing 4-0 to help lead the Lady Indians to a fourth consecutive Mississippi Association of Junior and Community Colleges (MACJC) North Division Championship.
The freshman southpaw was part of the Lady Indians four member pitching staff that finished tenth overall in the final NJCAA statistics with a combined 2.08 ERA.
McDuffy threw a perfect game in her first collegiate start on March 24 against Coahoma Community College. She finished the season without allowing an extra base hit and only gave up 31 hits while striking out 19.
