
Calhoun takes game two, 8-3

FULTON, MS – After dropping game one on a walk off, Calhoun Community College took an early lead in game two and never looked back to pick up the 8-3 win over Itawamba Community College Sunday.
The Lady Indians (23-11. 15-5 MACJC North) fell behind early as Calhoun plated four runs in the opening frame, but answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the first.
Sophomore's Laken Shankle (Bruce) and Arriann Henry (Ecru) picked up the Lady Indians' two RBIs and freshman Courtney Roberts (Hatley) tried to start rallies going 3-for-4.
The Lady Indians were able to string together eight hits, but Calhoun had hot bats picking up 15 hits including two extra base knocks.
Sophomore Hannah Johnson (Branson, MO) was hit with her fourth loss of the season as she went three innings from the circle, falling to 12-4. Cassidy Hardy (Gordo, AL) threw four innings and got a no decision.
The Lady Indians jump back into division play Tuesday when they travel to Scooba for doubleheader with the East Mississippi Lady Lions. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
