Lady Indians roll to G1 victory over MS Delta

FULTON, MS - The Lady Indians (10-5, 3-1 MACJC North) exploded out of the gates to score eight runs on six hits highlighted by a grand slam from freshman outfielder Courtney Roberts (Hatley), a two-run blast from sophomore first baseman Arriann Henry (Ecru), and two-run double by sophomore shortstop Haley Moore (Booneville) to take an 8-1 lead after the first inning of play.
RBI singles from Henry and freshman utility player Katelynn Downey (Liberty, MO) gave the Lady Indians a 10-1 lead after two complete.
Freshman Cassidy Hardy (Gordo, AL) improved to 3-1 on the season by striking out two and giving up one earned run on three hits in four innings of work before fellow freshman Katlin McDuffy (Iuka) came in to shut the door on the Lady Trojans striking out a pair of batters and not giving up a hit in the fifth inning.
Katrina Wilson (Oxford) finished the game going two-for-three with a triple and a double while scoring two runs.
