FULTON, MS – Mother Nature has thrown another wrinkle into the final week of the baseball and softball regular seasons at Itawamba Community College.
ICC softball coach Andy Kirk also announced plans to move the Lady Indians' (29-12-1, 16-6 MACJC North) doubleheader against East Mississippi Community College (24-16, 17-5 MACJC North) also due to the potential of stormy weather on Saturday.
Game 1 of the twin bill is scheduled for Sunday starting at 3:00 p.m. with Sophomore Day festivities to be held after the conclusion of the doubleheader.
A sweep by ICC would result in the Lady Indians' third outright MACJC North Division title in the past four seasons after the Lady Indians and EMCC shared the North crown in 2011. ICC has finished as one of the top two seeds out of the North for six-straight seasons.
The MACJC State Softball Tournament will begin Thursday, May 2 and will be held at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
Listen live on WAFM 95.7 FM (Amory) starting at 2:40 with the Davis Ford Pregame Show and will available online at www.fm95radio.com and www.ihigh.com/iccathletics.
