Itawamba Community College head softball coach Andy Kirk announced the signing of Monica Wade, an outfielder from Florence High School.
"I'm really excited to be able to play on the next level after high school," said Wade. "This has been a dream of mine since I started playing softball in the seventh grade so it's a big accomplishment for me."
Wade had a .519 batting average with a .584 on-base percentage and .649 slugging percentage for Coach Cliff Thames and the Lady Eagles last season.
"Monica has played a big role in the leadership part of our team," said Florence head softball coach Cliff Thames. "I feel like she will bring a lot of speed to ICC and she does what she's done for us when she goes to ICC she'll be a great leader, a great teammate and should be able to help carry them a long way."
"We really like the element of speed Monica will bring to our program," said Kirk. "She's got a talent that's hard to coach and anytime that you have someone that can steal bases and cause havoc for the defense that's the type of players we want."
