SUMMIT, MS – Two ninth inning errors hands Southwest Mississippi Community College to a 2-1 victory over Itawamba Community College in game one Saturday.
Sophomore pitcher and Delta State signee, Brady Chambley (Winona), who threw eight and two thirds innings allowing seven hits, striking out three, worked out of numerous jams during the nine inning affair.
The Indians (15-12, 9-10 MACJC) committed two errors with two outs in the final frame giving the Bears two runs and the walk off win.
Ty Wheeler (Tupelo), who finished 2-for-4 plated the Indians' lone run of the contest on a single in the six inning that plated Russ Johnson (Hatley) who led off the inning with a double.
Chambley didn't allow an earned run in the MACJC showdown but was hit with the loss to fall to 1-2 this season.
The Indians had to put the errors behind them and quickly turn around for game two with the Bears.
