Indians struggle to finish seventh in Northwest Invitational

Indians struggle to finish seventh in Northwest Invitational

OLIVE BRANCH, MS – ICC head coach David Rather had hoped to see some positives heading into next week's Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) State Championship Tournament, but instead his Indians struggled in the Northwest Invitation.

"Hopefully these last two tournaments will help the guys have a better frame of mind heading into the state tournament," said Rather. "We have the potential to make some noise next week, but we are going to have not let the mental side of the game keep us from playing the kind of golf I know we can play."

Tyler Rosentahal and Eric Symes finished tied for 32rd after turning in a two-day score of 161. Rosenthal carded an opening-round 79 and closed the tournament with a 82 while Symes opened the tournament with an 82 and rebounded to finish with a 79.

Evan Ellis finished 43rd at 172 (88-84) with Sam Warren finishing a spot behind him at 175 (87-88) and Chaz Robinson finished T45 at 177 (89-88).

The opening round of the two-day tournament was played at North Creek in Hernando and the final day of the Invitational was played at Wedgewood Golf Club in Olive Branch.

The Indians will play host to the MACJC State Championship at Riverbirch Golf Course April 15-16 in Amory.
