WEST MEMPHIS, AR – The Itawamba Community College men's basketball team ended a three game skid Thursday night by defeating Arkansas State University's Mid-South Community College 92-77.

The Indians (2-4) came out looking like they were on a mission and held a 48-41 advantage at halftime and continued to shoot well in the second half to cruise to the victory.

Four of the five Indian starters scored in double digits led by freshman guard/forward Brian Halums (Hollandale) with 16 points. Marcus Thomas (Pine Bluff, AR) scored a season-high 14 points followed by Martaveous McKnight (Walls) with 13. Quenten Taylor (Edison, GA) finished his second straight game with 10 points and seven assists.

Big As The Ocean

The rim must have felt oversized to the Indians as they had their best shooting performance of the year shooting 64.4 percent from the floor and 61.5 percent from three point range.

Team Effort

The starters had big nights but almost the entire team got in on the scoring as 10 of the 12 players who touched the floor recorded at least two points, including a nine point performance coming off the bench from Eric Brown (Greenville).

Time For Division

The Indians will have yet another road game next week, but the trip to Goodman to face Holmes Community College will have extra emphasis as it is the MACJC North Division opener. Tipoff is set for 8:00 p.m. and cane be seen live on LetsGoICCTV.com/red
