BOONEVILLE – It was the tale of two halves and the Indians' second half struggles led to the Tigers come from behind 63-60 win.
The Indians (5-10, 1-3) came out with the hot hand as they jumped out to an early 15-point lead led by Lakee Westbrook (Shannon) who hit back-to-back 3-pointers. The tight defense played by the Indians forced the Tigers to shoot only 29-percent, 8-27, from the floor, allowing the Indians to hold a 36-26 advantage at the break.
In the second half, the Indians struggled shooting only 34-percent, 9-26, while the Tigers rallied to take the lead with just over eight minutes remaining. Westbrook would put the Indians back on top with 3:02 left in the contest, but they were unable to hold on as the Tigers regained and never relinquished the lead to pick up the 63-60 win.
Tyrone Wooten (Memphis, TN) led the Indians with 12-points, followed by Austin Timms (Moorevile) with 11-points and Westbrook with 10-points.
The Indians look to end their current four game skid as they travel to Scooba Tuesday for a battle with the Lions. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and will be livestreamed on LetsGoICC.com.
