Itawamba Community College head football coach Jon Williams announced at a Wednesday afternoon press conference at the Davis Event Center that 42 high school players from all across the state of Mississippi signed with the Indians on National Signing Day.
"Jason is a great person that is going to add a lot to our staff, our institution and our community" said Williams. "He has a wealth of experience with a majority of it coming at the Division 1 level and I think it's good for our players to have a coach that will be able to give them a lot of guidance along the way."
"We're excited to have a player like Asian as a part of our program here at ICC," said Williams. "He is a local guy that is coming to us extremely motivated and hopefully that along with his work ethic that he picked up at Mississippi State will rub off on the rest of guys on the team."
Ryan Thompson (Pontotoc) signed with Indiana University, Wes Saxton (Hueytown, AL) with the University of South Alabama and Martrez Townes (Southaven) with Troy University.
Southwest MS Community College quarterback Vintavious Cooper completed 10-of-12 passes for 117 yards with one interception and rushed for 46 yards to earn MVP honors as the South snapped the North's two-game win streak with a 14-9 victory in the MACJC All-Star game on Saturday.
"This is a great opportunity for Coach Flores," said Williams. "He is a great coach and will do great things with the Coffeyville football program. He and his family will be missed not only in our football program, but amongst the college and community as well."
Representing ICC are sophomores Canden Dallas (Pontotoc), DeShawn McGaughy (Itawamba AHS), Erik Buchanan (Aberdeen), Justin Rogers (Starkville), Tevin Spurgon (Tupelo), Andrew Mahan (Selma, AL) and Ashton Ballard (Atlanta, GA).

ICC dropped a 45-7 decision to a red-hot Northwest Community College on Thursday dashing the Indians hopes at an appearance in postseason play.

The Indians had three turnovers and was flagged 12 times for 110 yards in their 30-27 MACJC North division win on Saturday.
Rashad Pargo caught two touchdown passes while Darren Daniel and DeShawn McGaughy each added a rushing touchdown as ICC defeated Mississippi Delta 30-0 on Saturday.
The ICC Indians hit the road looking for their first win of the season against No. 4 East Mississippi in the opening game of MACJC North play, but returned to Fulton with a 48-7 loss to the Lions.
ICC saw its first win of the season slip away in the final minutes of their contest against East Central when the Warriors scored 24-unanswered points to come away with a 24-17 come-from-behind victory over the Indians on Thursday.
