Five ICC football players named to MACJC All-State

Itawamba Community College football coach Jon Williams announced five members of the Indian football team earned Mississippi Association of Junior and Community College (MACJC) All-State honors.

Sophomore running back Keon McGaughy (Shannon, MS), sophomore punter Will Goodwin (Starkville, MS) and sophomore linebacker Martrez Townes (Southaven, MS) all earned spots on the All-State first team while freshman tight end Wes Saxton (Birmingham, AL) and freshman offensive tackle Du'Von Millsap (Buford, GA) earned second team honors.

McGaughy finished the season with a team-high 761 yards rushing, 99 yards receiving and four touchdowns on the season.

Goodwin, who was named All-State second team last season, connected on 12-of-13 extra point attempts this season and hit a 42-yard field goal while leading the state in punting with a 42.7 yard per kick average, which ranks fourth in the nation.

Townes recorded 46 tackles with six going for a loss of 31 yards, a sack for a loss of nine yards, three interceptions returned for a total of 85 yards, three pass break ups and a fumble recovery.

Saxton caught 10 passes for 137 yards and one touchdown while Millsap anchored an offensive line that helped the Indians amass 2,614 yards of total offense (1475 rushing, 1139 passing) this season.

The Indians finished 4-5 overall and 4-2 to finish the season in a tie for second place in the MACJC North Division for the second-straight year.
