The Lady Indians (14-8) will have to await the fate of their season after dropping an 89-59 decision to No. 5 Jones Country Junior College in the quarterfinals of the MACJC Tournament held at Northwest Mississippi Community College on Tuesday.
The Lady Indians wore down the Mississippi Delta Lady Trojans to pull away for a 68-54 victory to stay in the chase for the playoffs on Thursday.
The Lady Tigers (11-5, 4-1 MACJC North) held a 62-53 lead with just over a minute left in the game before the Lady Indians (8-5, 2-2 MACJC North) went on an 8-1 run capped off by a three pointer from Lauren Fitch (Decatur, Ala.) with seven seconds left to play.
In a game originally scheduled for Thursday night, the Lady Indians wasted little time getting a jump on the Coahoma Community College Lady Tigers to notch a 95-58 win in a rare Friday afternoon contest at the Davis Event Center.
The Lady Indians left no doubt in closing out the 2017 half of the season with a 91-56 win over Southern Shreveport on Fan Appreciation Day.
Leading 34-32 at halftime, the Lady Indians outscored the Lady Patriots 30-12 in the third quarter before coasting to the double digit win for the season sweep.
The Lady Indians (3-2) raced out to a 14-point lead in the first quarter before the Lady Bobcats (3-0) settled into the contest to make it a 22-11 game in favor of ICC by the end of the first quarter. Jones County outscored the Lady Indians in the second quarter to cut ICC’s lead to 39-32 at the break.
Sophomore point guard Lauren Fitch (Decatur, AL) scored a career-high 18 points and dished out a career-best 9 assists in the Lady Indians’ 77-67 win over Lawson State (AL) Community College on Monday.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 3 Shelton State (AL) Community College Lady Bucs proved why they have been consistently ranked among the nation’s best JUCO basketball programs over the past seven years with an impressive, 93-53, victory over the Lady Indians on Thursday.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Another strong second half helped the Lady Indians overcome a six-point halftime deficit to pick up a 69-64 road win against Lawson State (AL) Community College on Monday.
A strong second half powered the Lady Indians to an impressive 96-55 victory over Wallace State Community College-Selma to open the 2017-18 season in the recently renovated Davis Event Center on Thursday.
Last season, the Lady Indians finished 17-8 overall and won the MACJC North Division with a 11-1 record while advancing to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 23 semifinals.
