No. 19 Indians extend win streak to six

FULTON, MS –In an early morning battle, the No. 19 Itawamba Community College men's tennis program extended their win streak to six with a 9-0 victory over Copiah-Lincoln Community College Saturday.
The Indians (6-2) picked up their second shutout win in less than 24 hours, but it was not an easy victory.
Cody Coins (Millington, TN) and Joseph Summers (Amory) had tough matchups, but both emerged victorious. Coins picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win over Braxton Hinton and Summers rallied to defeat Drake Nelson in a tie breaker, 3-6, 6-0 (10).
The Indians swept doubles competition highlighted by an 8-0 win by Nathaniel Pinkney (Southaven) and Austin McElwain (Corinth).
David McElwain (West Point) and Austin McElwain picked up 6-0, 6-0 wins over their singles opponents and Drew Ballard (Tupelo) closed out the day with a 6-1, 6-0 victory.
The Indians take their six game win streak on the road Thursday when they travel to Senatobia to take on the Northwest Rangers at 2 p.m.
