Fulton, Miss. – The Itawamba Community College men's basketball program earned a No .24 ranking in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division 1 Men's Basketball Poll Tuesday afternoon.
The ranking came on the heels of the Indians' upset wins over then-ranked No. 21 Northeast Mississippi Community College and No. 24 Pearl River Community College last week.
The Indians, who are 13-1 prior to Tuesday night's game, started last week with a 79-71 win over Northeast in Fulton behind an 18-point performance from Gemari Marshall (Jackson).
They wrapped up the week with a big 69-67 road win over Pearl River Thursday night, led by current conference player of the week George Marshall (Jackson) with 19 points.
The Indians, who are 3-0 in conference play, will face conference foe Coahoma Community College at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday night in Fulton and will travel to East Central Community College Thursday with tip-off scheduled for 6 p.m.
