FULTON, Miss. – Freshman guard George Marshall has been named Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
The Morehead State signee averaged 16.5 points and nine rebounds per game to help the Indians (13-1, 3-0 MACCC) knock off a pair of nationally-ranked teams last week.
In a 79-71 win over No. 21 Northeast (11-4, 2-1 MACCC), Marshall scored 14 points while collecting eight rebounds. He followed that stellar performance with his second double-double of the season in a 69-67 road win against No. 24 Pearl River (10-3, 2-1 MACCC). He finished the game with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Marshall and the Indians will host Coahoma (9-3, 2-0 MACCC) tonight at 5:30 p.m. in the Davis Event Center.
