
Westbrook signs with Ouachita Baptist

FULTON, MS – Sophomore guard Lakee Westbrook signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his basketball career with the Tigers of Ouachita Baptist University.
"It's a great feeling," said Westbrook. "I thank God for allowing me to continue my career and it should be a lot of fun."
Westbrook (Shannon) was named to the MACJC All-Star team by averaging 13.7 points, 3 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game started all 23 games for Coach Grant Pate last season.
"It was a great experience playing at ICC," said Westbrook. "The coaches were great and the atmosphere and I had fun these two years but I'm happy to be moving forward with my career."
During his freshman season, Westbrook played a role in the Indians winning the MACJC Championship and making it to the quarterfinals of the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament by averaging 7.9 points per game in 27 games.
"He had an outstanding career with us and he's a quality young man," said Pate. "We couldn't be more excited to see him move on and continue his education and playing basketball at the four year level."
Westbrook is third Indian to continue his career joining Tyrone Wooten (Memphis, TN) who signing with Louisiana-Lafayette and University of North Alabama signee Austin Timms (Mooreville).
Ouachita Baptist University is a NCAA Division II school located in Arkadelphia, AR and is a member of the Great American Conference. The Tigers finished 20-6 last season and were the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament before being upset in the opening round.
