
FULTON, Miss. – Itawamba Community College sophomore Alyssa Clifft (Jackson, Tenn.) has been named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) Softball Pitcher of the Week, according to an announcement Tuesday.
Clifft picked up a no-hitter in ICC's 9-1 game one win over Holmes, allowing one run on two walks while striking out eight batters, bringing her season total to over 100 strikeouts. In game two against Holmes, she pitched two scoreless innings, surrendering two hits and striking out two to secure the win. She allowed one hit, walked two, and struck out three in two scoreless innings against East Central before exiting early due to an injury.
So far this season, Clifft has recorded 106 strikeouts, ranked second in the MACCC; picked up 12 wins, tied for second; and ranked fifth with a 1.56 earned run average.
The Indians will be back in action on Tuesday, March 25, for a doubleheader against rival Northeast starting at 4 p.m. in Booneville.
