FULTON, MS – Sophomores Deontaye Ewing (Tupelo) and Quintin Lee (Ripley, TN) each scored a game-high 16 points as the Indians knocked off Holmes Community College 66-64 on Monday.
"Deontaye and Quintin played one of their best games as a unit all season," said ICC head coach Grant Pate. "Both fed off each other all night long and did a great job willing us to victory by crashing the boards, combining for 11 assists on top of leading us in scoring."
Ewing was a rebound away from turning in his third double-double performance of the season after finishing the night with a game-high nine rebounds while Johnthan McGee (Jackson) added 15 points in the win on Alumni Night.
Lee added eight rebounds and a game-high six assists in the win.
"I thought Johnthan played great in the second half," said Pate. "He made a three-pointer from about 27-foot out as the shot clock was running out that really lit a spark in the team when Holmes was starting to make a run."
Demarcus Lewis, DeAndre Scott and Kenitric Gillum led Holmes with 11 points each.
