Griffin signs with Blue Mountain Christian
Sophomore Mia Griffin has signed to continue her volleyball career at Blue Mountain Christian University.
FULTON, Miss. – Sophomore Mia Griffin of Corinth has signed to continue her volleyball career at Blue Mountain Christian University.
The outside hitter recorded 77 kills, 247 digs, 14 assists, two blocks and 19 service aces during her final season at ICC. She also recorded a career-best 11 kills in the Indians' 3-1 win at Northeast.
When talking about her time at ICC, Griffin looked back on the memories she made over the past two years and expressed how the college has prepared her for the next level.
"The best really do start here," Griffin said. "I love this place and the lifelong friends I made. ICC has really prepared me to go into the next two years of my college experience. I've grown as a student-athlete and a student, and I'll never forget my time here."
ICC head volleyball coach Annie McGregor spoke highly of Griffin and the time she had with the college's volleyball program.
"Mia is known by her teammates for being hardworking and someone you can count on both on and off the court," McGregor said. "Mia has certainly left her mark on the Itawamba Community College volleyball program and I can't wait to watch her do the same at Blue Mountain Christian University."
Griffin joins the Toppers that compete in the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) and are a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) member.
