
Fulton, Miss. – Itawamba Community College sophomore Kailynn Johnson of Olive Branch has signed to continue her volleyball career at Fisk University in Nashville, Tenn.
The outside hitter recorded 253 kills, 232 digs, 34 assists, 33 blocks and 12 service aces while helping the Indians to a 16-11 record and postseason berth. Johnson set the program's single game kill record with 21 against Pearl River in the playoffs.
Johnson put her name in the program's history book before leaving Fulton with 386 kills that is the third highest in program history, and 351 digs that is fifth all time at ICC.
In her freshman season, Johnson had 133 kills, 119 digs, 34 locks, 19 services aces and nine assists as the Indians went 19-12 and advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Gulf District Tournament.
Johnson joins the Bulldogs that compete in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) and are a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) member.
