The ICC tennis teams opened the 2020 season on the road at East Central on Friday with the Lady Indians (0-1) dropping a 7-2 decision to the No. 20 Lady Warriors and the No. 22 Indians (1-0) picking up a 6-3 win over the No. 21 Warriors.
Women's Doubles Results:
Julianna Alves (Brazil) and Maggie Creekmore (New Albany) dropped an 8-2 decision in No. 1 doubles; Riley Crouch (Amory) and Farrah Fowlkes (Amory) fell 8-3 to Josie Hurst and Ali Grace Walker in No. 2 doubles; and Brianna Hibler (Macon) and Sydney Ferguson (Mantee) defeated Kayla Baucum and Marla Graham 8-6 in No. 3 doubles.
Women's Singles Results:
Alves dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision to Beltran in No. 1 singles; Creekmore fell 6-3, 6-0 to Vargas in No. 2 singles; Fowlkes was beat 6-0, 3-6 (10-5) in No. 3 singles by Walker; Crouch was defeated 6-3, 6-0 by Hurst in No. 4 singles; Hibler rallied to pick up a 4-6, 6-4 (10-8) win over Baucum in No. 5 singles; and Ferguson fell 6-1, 6-1 to Graham in No. 6 singles.
Men's Doubles Results:
Franco Roldan (Argentina) and Sergio Garcia (Colombia) beat Chris Lawrence and Isaac Santitto 8-5 in No. 1 doubles; Reese Duncan (Pontotoc) and Hayden Embry (Philadelphia) lost to Dylan Barnett and Peyton Chaney 8-5 in No. 2 doubles; Jacambrian Madlock (Tupelo) and Jackson Christ (New Albany) picked up an 8-2 win over Dominick Donaldson and Rhy Elizar in No. 3 doubles.
Men's Singles Results:
Roldan defeated Lawrence 5-7, 6-3 (10-4) in No. 1 singles; Garcia picked up a 3-6, 6-4 (10-3) win over Santitto in No. 2 singles; Duncan also rallied to win 4-6, 7-6 (12-10) over Barnett in No. 3 singles; Embry beat Chaney 6-3, 6-3 in No. 4 singles; Madlock dropped a 6-7, 6-2 (10-7) decision to Chris Albert in No. 5 singles; Toren King (Macon) fell 4-6, 6-3 (10-8) in No. 6 singles to Donaldson.
