FULTON, MS – Vanessa Baugatz and Lauren Sharples have made indelible marks on the history of the Lady Indians' soccer program.
Baugatz (Berlin, Germany) has rewritten the record books with new milestones for career goals (26) and points (60). The sophomore forward claimed the top spot in career goals on her first of three goals during a 6-0 victory at Hinds Community College, surpassing the previous record of 23 goals held by Grayce Joyce (Oxford), who played for the Lady Indians during the 2018-19 seasons. Baugatz's performance this season also pushed her beyond Joyce's record for most points in a season, finishing with 60 points.
Sharples (Liverpool, England) set a new standard for career and single-season assists. The midfielder recorded 15 assists during her freshman season, and then added two more assists in her sophomore campaign to extend her career total to 17, surpassing the previous record of 13 career assists, which was held by both Addison Pletzske (Clinton).
