
Fulton, Miss. – Itawamba Community College women's soccer picked up a non-conference win over Columbia State Community College behind two goals from Brianna Huckaby (Saltillo).
The Lady Indians (5-2, 1-0 MACCC) attacked early in the contest, but Columbia State's keeper made big saves to keep ICC off the board while the took an early 1-0 lead at the 15th minute.
Huckaby netted the equalizer at the 34th minute when she sent a strike to the top right shelf of the goal to beat the keeper.
After halftime, Huckaby would strike again, this time off an assists from Addison Pletzke (Clinton) at the 57th minute to score the go ahead and game winning goal.
Inna Vannula (Lahti, Finaland) shut out Columbia State in the second half making six saves to preserve the win.
After a busy three game week, the Lady Indians don't have a midweek game scheduled and their next opponent will be their first conference road test when they face Co-Lin at 11 a.m. Friday.
