Lady Indians rally to defeat Meridian, 4-2

Fulton, Miss. – The Lady Indians wrapped up the regular season with a 4-2 come. Form behind win over Meridian Friday.

Meridian jumped out to a 2-0 lead with goals and the 18th minute and 36th minute, but Grace Joyce (Oxford) cut the lead to 2-1 on a goal off a Brittany Mathis (Pontotoc) at the 38th minute.

Lucy Dexter (Tupelo) netted the equalizer at the 54th minute and Mathis scored the go ahead goal one minute later off an assist from Ashley Stevens (Amory). Mathis then scored her second of the day at the 63rd minute off an assist from Emily Hayward (Oxford) to complete the comeback and extend the current win streak to 14 games.

The Lady Indians (15-3) will now face Gulf Coast in the MACJC semifinals Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
