Lady Indians win tenth straight, clinch playoff berth at Hinds

Raymond, Miss. – The Lady Indians continue to rewrite the program's history books Friday with a 5-0 win over Hinds.

Scoring early and often, the Lady Indians (11-3, 5-1 MACJC North) cruised to victory, picking up a program best 10th consecutive win and setting the program's total wins record.

Emily Hayward (Oxford) scored in the first minute to give the Tribe the lead and goals by Brittany Mathis (Pontotoc) and Grace Joyce (Oxford) extended the lead to 3-0 by halftime.

Ashley Stevens (Amory) scored both of the Lady Indians' goals in the second half and Anna Wesleigh Driskell (Tupelo) grabbed five saves to complete the fifth shutout this season.

The Lady Indians, clinched a playoff berth with the victory for the fourth straight season and will be back in action Tuesday when they travel to Decatur for another North Division showdown with East Central at 1 p.m.
