FULTON, MS – After 83 scoreless minutes, Pearl River Community College drove home the game winner to survive the tough play of Itawamba Community College on Sunday, picking up a 1-0 victory.

The Lady Indians (2-6, 0-4 MACJC North) held their own with the defending NJCAA Region 23 champions highlighted by an outstanding performance in net by sophomore keeper Kate Hester (Pontotoc).

Hester picked up an impressive 15 saves to tie the program's record and kept the Lady Indians in position to pick up the win.

The Lady Indians had four strong chances to score the go ahead goal earlier in the match, but the Lady Wildcat keeper picked up the saves to keep the Lady Indians off the board.

With just over six minutes remaining in regulation, the Lady Wildcats scored the game's only goal to escape Fulton with the win.

The Lady Indians will travel to Summit Friday for a non-conference match with Southwest Mississippi Community College. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
