SCOOBA, MS - Itawamba Community College and East Mississippi Community College's women's programs battled for MACJC North supremacy Thursday night, and a 16 point, 12 rebound performance by Jabria Pounds (Nettleton) led the Lady Indians to a 55-46 road win.

The Lady Indians (17-5, 9-2 MACJC North) want into the contest with a chip on their shoulder after dropping a four point decision to the Lady Lions in Fulton early this season. With post season home court advantage on the line, the two teams battle furiously in the first two quarters and were knotted at 26-26 at the break.

As the third quarter came to a close, Alontra Tucker (Lamar) hit a layup to give the Lady Indians their largest lead of the night, 41-31.

The Lady Lions (13-6, &-3 MACJC North) rallied in the final frame, cutting the lead down to one, 43-42, but the Lady Indians never gave up the lead as they held on to pick up the 55-46 win.

Pounds led the Lady Indians with her game-high 16 points, followed by Tucker with 10.

Quantesha Patterson paced the Lady Lions with 14 points.

With Thursday night's win, the Lady Indians set atop the MACJC North Division standings, but have not clinched the division title as Northwest Community College sets one game back in second place.

The Lady Indians will wrap up the regular season on Monday when they host Mississippi Delta Community College. Tipoff is set for 6:00 pm as the Lady Indians try to win the North Division and claim rights to host the MACJC State Tournament at the Davis Event Center.
