FULTON, MS – Sophomores Ty-Nita Baker (Houston) and Ayanna Lynn (Indianola) each scored a game-high 23 points to help the Lady Indians avenge last year's season-ending loss to Meridian Community College with an 83-65 win on Thursday.

"We had a great practice coming into this game and it really showed on the floor tonight," said ICC head women's basketball coach Nanci Gray. "I felt like it was one of our best performances as a team this season and hopefully this is a sign of us starting to come together as a team."

Baker connected on 6-of-11 from behind the arch as the Lady Indians hit a season-high 16 three pointers on the night.

"I felt our ball movement helped us get a lot of good looks at the basket tonight," Gray commented on the Lady Indians hitting on nearly 60% of their three-point attempts. "Not only were we moving it quickly around the perimeter, but we also did a great job of moving it from the post to our open shooters."

Lynn and Lytoya Collins (Jackson) both knocked down three threes on the night.

Baker also dished out a game-high 6 assists and grabbed a team-high 7 rebounds on the night.

"Ty played a great all-around game tonight," Gray said of the sophomore. "Obviously she did a great job scoring 23 points, but I thought she did an even better job of knowing when to get her teammates the ball and crashing the boards."

Four of Baker's assists created scoring opportunities for Lynn, whose 23-point performance was her biggest output as a Lady Indian.

"Ayanna did a good job of finding the open spots on the floor and attacking the basket when her defender would go to help on defense," Gray. "We are going to need see that out of her a lot more this season."

Collins came off the bench to score 11 points while sophomores Jasmine Hampton (Bruce) and Ashley Wiley (Jackson) along with freshman LyTia Coleman (Memphis, TN) each scored 6 points in the win.
