Clifft, Marlar earn All-MACCC honors
Two standout players from Itawamba Community College’s 2025 softball team have been honored with postseason recognition from the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC). Sophomore pitcher Alyssa Clifft was named to the All-MACCC First Team, while freshman designated hitter AB Marlar earned All-MACCC Honorable Mention.
FULTON, Miss. — Two standout players from Itawamba Community College's 2025 softball team have been honored with postseason recognition from the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC). Sophomore pitcher Alyssa Clifft was named to the All-MACCC First Team, while freshman designated hitter AB Marlar earned All-MACCC Honorable Mention.
Clifft turned in a stellar sophomore campaign, anchoring the Indians' pitching staff and leaving her mark in the program record books. She appeared in 27 games and started 25, compiling an 18-8 record with 20 complete games.
Over 156.2 innings pitched, Clifft recorded 168 strikeouts, tying the ICC single-season record. Her strikeout total, along with a 2.06 ERA and 1.01 WHIP, made her one of the most effective pitchers in the MACCC. She allowed just 123 hits and 46 earned runs.
Her 18 wins also places her No. 5 all-time in ICC single-season victories.
Marlar burst onto the scene as one of ICC's most productive hitters, earning All-MACCC Honorable Mention as a designated hitter. Playing in all 51 games, she batted .333 with 47 hits in 141 at-bats, while driving in 42 runs and launching eight home runs.
She added six doubles, reached base at a .414 clip, and posted a .546 slugging percentage, making her a key piece of the middle of ICC's lineup. Marlar struck out just 13 times all season and drew 15 walks.
The Indians finished the season 30-21 record and advanced to the third round of the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament
